About OIS JVLR MUN
OIS JVLR MUN is one of Mumbai's finest MUN Conferences, currently in it's 5th edition. OIS JVLR hosted two online international conferences in 2020 and 2021, followed by an intra-school conference in 2022 and then our first phyical conference in April 2023, which made history as Mumbai's first ever MUN conference organised exclusively by Middle School students, for Middle School students. Following this, OIS JVLR hosted our first physical MS & HS conference in October 2023 and then our second intra-school conference in April 2024. As at each of these conferences, OIS JVLR MUN 2024 promises to be an event for the brightest young minds across Mumbai to engage in relentless debate, discussion, collaboration and critical thinking, embracing their roles as global citizens to find solutions to the pressing global issues of our time.
About OIS JVLR
OIS is a school of nearly 2,700 students across two state-of-the art campuses located in the thriving city of Mumbai. Each campus is designed to deliver an innovative educational experience for every child. JVLR is the newer of the two campuses, opening its doors in 2017. Currently the campus is home to 1,400+ students and 200+ teachers. OIS JVLR prepares globally-minded students for the world of tomorrow. Although we may not know exactly what that world might look like, we know our students will need learning experiences rooted in skills and conceptual understanding. Therefore, we engage students in critical thinking, creative problem solving, and we design experiences that challenge them to apply their learnings from the classroom to real-world scenarios. Students are prepared for the unexpected to be successful problem-solvers who make our world a better place.
Letter From The Secretary Generals
Dear Delegates, Faculty Advisors, and Parents,
We are Rayhaan Heredia and Shrihan Jha and it is our honour and privilege to hold the post of Secretary General for the 5th edition of OIS JVLR MUN, set to take place this November at the Oberoi International School JVLR Campus.
Over the years at OIS JVLR, we’ve had conferences with varying focuses, from institutional quandaries, to global disparity, our conferences have consistently been home to some of the best debate and MUN Mumbai has to offer, and this year is no different as we hope to host Mumbai’s largest ever conference, under our guiding theme “Inertia”

Inertia, meaning “the tendency to not move or change” applies to more than just physics. At OIS JVLR MUN 2024, we find it the most apt word to describe the world we presently live in. With global tensions the highest they’ve been in recent years, social issues running rife and political and economic instability the norm in several global theatres, now more than ever the human race is expected to step up, take responsibility and act to save our civilisation. Yet, we as a society appear magnificently incompetent when it comes to solving these issues.
Previously, one may have attributed this to a lack of awareness, a lack of priority and of direction. However, now we have reached a stage where this inability to solve these prevalent issues of our time can be attributed to one thing: Inertia. Our inability to change from a species that priorities individual gain to one that prioritises collective triumph, to change from a society that values military and political power to an equal, peaceful global community, to change such that we may save the human race from those issues which we have warned each other off time and time again, only to sit and do nothing about them. To save humanity, from our own Inertia.
We look forward to a conference where delegates work passionately and committedly to help us overcome that inertia, by being good problem solvers, communicators and debaters and more importantly, learning and enjoying themselves in the process.
We strive to ensure OIS JVLR MUN 2024, will be that conference, one that will live in the memory of OIS JVLR and Mumbai for years to come. We look forward to having all of you join us on this journey.
